Plymouth: Attractions and more...
Plymouth Rock
By tradition, known as the place where the pilgrims disembarked. But for supporting this theory there isn’t any evidence from historical books. The 94 year old Thomas Faunce made the identification of the Plymouth Rock, as the actual landing site.
The rock is situated roughly 650 feet (200 m), away from where the first settlement was expected to be built. "Plymouth Rock", more famous as a large boulder, is now placed below a granite canopy, especially designed by a famed astronomical illustrator Chesley Bonestell. It is placed in centre of the Pilgrim Memorial State Park.
