Saugus is a town located in the county of Essex, in Boston-Cambridge-Quincy Metro area. Saugus city is home of the historic Saugus iron works. Saugus iron works is the first integrated iron work in North America and now it is a National Historic Site.Geographically Saugus coordinates at 42º 27’ 53” North and 71º0’38” West. According to the United States census Bureau, the total area of Saugus is 11.8 square miles, of which 11.0 square miles is land and 0.8 square miles is water. According to the 2007 Census the total population of Saugus was 26,384 and it has a population density of 2,403 square miles.Saugus gets 49 inches of rain per year and snowfall of 51 inches.
