Tourist Guide Sturbridge
Sturbridge is a town located in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. It is home to the Old Sturbridge Village Living History Museum and other sites of historical interest. Geographically it is located at 42°06’30” north and 72°04’45” west. It covers an area of 39 square miles out of which 37.4 square mile is covered by land and the rest 1.5 square miles is covered by water. It rises about 619 ft above the sea level. The town supports a total population of 7,837 with a population density of 209.5/sq miles. As of the 2000 census there were 5.235 households and 3,690 families residing in the town. The per capita income for the town is $25,559. The town’s maximum population consists of individuals hailing from the White origin (97.14%25) followed by Blacks or Afro American origin and a small percentage of mixed races. Sturbridge was first settled in 1729, by settlers from Medfield, but was officially incorporated in 1738.
