Wayside Inn had been originally operated between 1716 and 1861 in the form of Howe’s Inn. It gained fame due to publication of ‘Tales of a Wayside Inn’, a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. At present, Wayside Inn is amongst the ‘National Historic Sites’ which feature fine dining. Moreover, it has been noted as an age-old operating inn all over America.
