Walpole can be described as a town located in county of Norfolk, Massachusetts, US.

Walpole lies at an approximate distance of 17.9 miles on the southern side of Boston; and around 23.5 miles on the northern side of Providence, Rhode Island.

Walpole had first been settled in the year 1659. At that time, it had been considered to be a portion of Dedham till official incorporation in the year 1724.

The name ‘Walpole’ has been derived from Sir Robert Walpole, i.e. ‘de facto’ 1st Prime Minister with respect to Great Britain.

Climate of Walpole is of ‘humid continental’ type. Such climate is predominantly found in New England and Massachusetts. Summers conventionally happen to be humid and hot; whereas winters seem to be snowy, windy, and cold. July proves to be the hottest month; whereas January to be the coolest.

According to census conducted in the year 2000, population of Walpole was 22824.
