HenryFordMuseum & GreenfieldVillage is a village reconstruction along with the HenryFordMuseum on 12 acres of
land and an open air museum. The HenryFordMuseum
has a number of decorative art galleries displaying several motorcycles,
automobiles, cars and carriages. The technological development of the
automobile is explained along with advances in American Life in its various
exhibits. The Automobile Hall of Fame lies adjacent to the museum and is
dedicated to the history of the automotive industry. DearbornHistoricalMuseum is an agricultural
museum housed in two buildings namely the Exhibit Annex and the 19th
century U.S. Government Arsenal. There is farm equipment, buggies, period
furniture and wagons on display at the museum. The Henry Ford Estate is a
palace listed on the National Register of buildings and has a skating house,
vegetable garden, 500 birdhouses, a pony barn, staff cottages, a greenhouse, a
“Santa’s workshop” and a man made lake. The city has a rich topography of green
beltways and fields filled with sunflowers. There are numerous parks, ice rinks
and sledding hills for tourists to enjoy.
