The Detroit Science Center is situated in Midtown Detroit. It is spread across 110000 sq ft and is famous for its fascinating architecture. It features numerous hands-on exhibits, digital planetarium and Michigan’s’ only IMAX Dome Theater.
Dexter Ferry, who is a Detroit businessman, founded the facility around 30 years ago. The facility offers multiple interactive programs dealing with science education for individuals, groups and families.
It has various exciting hands-on exhibits like the Chrysler Science Stage, DTE Energy Sparks, an 8700 sq ft hall for traveling exhibits, Ford Learning Resource Center and 5 laboratories.
Dassault Systèmes Planetarium has a 3-story, fifty-foot wide dome fitted with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, giving visitors a dynamic view of various fascinating planetary structures.
The Chrysler IMAX Dome Theatre has a screen which is 3 ½ stories tall and 67 ½ ft in diameter, incorporating the most advanced sound and projection system in the world. Watching movies in this dome theater is an experience which you will never forget.
