Southgate can be described as a city located in county of Wayne, Michigan, US.
Southgate had been the final city to have got incorporated from previous ‘Ecorse Township’; thereby having gained urban status in the year 1958 in the month of October. This city has been bordered by ‘Goddard Road’ on the northern side, Pennsylvania Road on the southern side, M-85/Fort Street on the eastern side, and ‘Allen Road’ on the western side.
At present, Southgate goes on to house HQ of ‘The News-Herald’, i.e. a ‘Downriver newspaper’ operating on the local level that happens to cover around 20 surrounding communities.
As per US Census Bureau, total area of Southgate comes out to be 17.8 sq. Km (all land). This city borders Riverview on the southern side, Wyandotte on the eastern side, Allen Park on the north-western side, Lincoln Park on the northern side, and Taylor on the western side.
According to census conducted in the year 2000, population of Southgate was 30136.
