When to visit

The best times of the year to visit Michigan are August and November. This year round destination attracts tourists with upcoming ski resorts in the winters and luring campers with state parks in the summers, not to forget spring and fall activities.

When spring melts away the snow, these resorts switch from skiing to golf and hiking, attracting crowds.  The summers see lots of outdoor activities around the Great Lakes, other than 11,000 inland lakes, streams and rivers.  In autumn, the leaves colors make it a beautiful breathtaking color displays.

The high season is from June to August and late November to March, with the shoulder season being from April to May and from September to mid November.

Year round, this state hosts many local, regional as well as statewide events and festivals. Winters are an exceptionally good time to visit for those who enjoy skiing and winter sports. Early and mid spring or even late fall are preferable times to enjoy any indoor activities.
