Anoka is a city which is situated in Anoka County in Minnesota. This city is the county seat of Anoka County and is also the Halloween Capital of the World as it hosted the first Halloween parade in 1920.This city was first settled by immigrants in 1844. The city was formally incorporated in 1878.

Anoka city lies at the convergence of the Mississippi and Rum River, and almost twenty miles North West of Minneapolis. As per the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.2 square miles of which 6.7 square miles of land and 0.5 square miles is water.

Some of the adjacent communities of the Anoka city are Ramsey, Coon Rapids, Dayton and Andover.

As per the 2000 census, the population was 18,076. 2009 estimates show that Anoka has a population of 17,261 people. This means the population growth compared to 2000 census is -3.18 percent.

Anoka City experiences 32 inches of rainfall and 52 inches of snowfall each year. There are almost 197 sunny days in this city. The month of July is warmest with 83 degrees and the month of January is coldest with 2 degrees.
