Austin is a city located in the U.S. State of Minnesota, in Mower County.
According to the U.S. Census of 2000, its population was 23,314 inhabitants. In 2006 it was estimated to have a population of 23,331, an increase of 17 (0.1%25). The city’s southern region belongs to the Township of Austin, while the northern region belongs to the Lansing Township; the city is independent from both politics. Austin is situated at the junction of two high ways.
