The town has two lakes known as Mill pond and East Side Lake for improving the facilities of tourism.

Austin has its own airport called as Austin Municipal Airport. The Park Board was formed in 1902 to maintain the city parks.

The city established the Austin Park Board in 1902 to maintain the city’s parks. The main library is the Austin Public Library, it is one of Carnegie libraries and it was built in 1904.

The Recreation Board was formed in the year 1939. But in the year April 1949 the recreation Board and the Park Board were merged and it became the Austin Park and Recreation Board.

Austin city is often affected with major floods and cyclones which has affected its economy to some extent.
