Lake Bemidji is a small glacier-formed lake in the north of the U.S. state of Minnesota with an area of approximately 26 square kilometers. The lake is located in southern Beltrami County, near the town of Bemidji, which is located on the southwest shore. The language of the Ojibwe describes the lake as Bimijigamaa (Lake of another water crossing). The lake is a popular recreation and tourist destination. Lake Bemidji State Park is located along the northern shore. One popular legend is that the lake shows the way through which the giant footprint was found and the story of the woodcutter Paul Bunyan took place here. Minnesota has a total of about 360 public libraries, which is one of the main tourist attractions, which move annually about 8.9 books per capita. The area of the Twin Cities is considered the capital of arts of the Upper Midwest. Other major art centres are the Twin Ports (Twin Ports: Duluth - Superior) and the cities of Madison and Milwaukee in Wisconsin.
