The Stone Arch Bridge is the only such bridge of its kind which is over the Mississippi River. It is totally made of native limestone and granite and is around 2100 feet long and 28 feet wide. The bridge has 23 arches, and was built by railroad baron, James J. Hill in the year 1883. The bridge allowed increased movement of people and the goods across the river. It also served as an active railroad bridge until 1965 and is still seen as a symbol of the railroad age. It is almost 13.9 miles from Blaine.
