The Mall of America is known as the Megamall, MOA or MoA. Opened in 1992, it had 40 million visitors in 2006. The property where the mall stands is owned by Triple Five Group of the Ghermezian family of Canada, who even manages the mall. The mall is a super regional shopping mall and is known as the second largest enclosed mall of retail space and largest mall of enclosed floor area. This mall is spread with a gross area of 4.2 million square feet with 2.5 million square feet of retail space. It is a nearly symmetrical building with a rectangular floor plan. This Mall offers more than 20,000 free parking spaces, frequent city bus service, dedicated pick up and drop off facility for motor coaches and also light rail transit to and from the MSP International Airport. It also offers around 520 stores, fifty restaurants and many attractions like Underwater Adventures Aquarium, theaters and Nick theme park.
