Lake Superior is known to be the largest of the five Great Lakes of North America. It is also the largest freshwater lake in the world by surface area. This lake is fed by more than 200 rivers. Its average surface elevation is 600 feet. At present, the lake attracts adventurers and tourists for its wilderness. This lake is quite popular for fishing purpose, as it has over 80 species of fish. Some of the native species include bloater, burbot, lake water fish, muskellunge, pumpkinseed and many more. There are also some foreign species of fish found here like salmon and sea lamprey due to which the fish population is diminishing drastically.
