Flandrau State Park is a Minnesota State Park located on the Cottonwood River outside of New Ulm. It was originally known as Cottonwood State Park. This park established in 1934. In 1945, it was renamed to honor Charles Eugene Flandrau, a significant figure in the Battles of New Ulm during the Dakota War of 1862. This park governing body is the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. In 1989, this park was added to the National Register of Historic Places. There are many natural lakes here at the park.
