Shakopee is a city situated in the southwest area of downtown Minneapolis in Minnesota in U.S.A. The city covers a total area of 28.6 sq miles and is the 16th largest metropolitan area in U.S.A. As per the 2007 census the city had a population count of 33,460 inhabitants.
The city has a regional medical center, a business district and several entertainment attractions. Shakopee has a cold climate with 42 inches of snowfall on an average and 29 inches of rainfall annually. January is the coldest month and July the warmest. There are 195 sunny days and February is the driest month. Shakopee Lake is a wonderful place to visit and Powder Ridge is an excellent local skiing region. Memorial Park in the city has a two thousand years old burial mound.
