Woodbury is a city which is situated in Washington County in Minnesota. This city is a suburb of the Twin cities metropolitan area. It is also located to the east of Saint Paul along Interstate 94. Originally it was known as Red Rock, but was renamed as Woodbury after Levi Woodbury, who was the first justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. This city was first settled in 1844, and the land was mostly timber that time and was converted to farmland.
The 2000 census estimates the population of the city to be 46,462 people. As of 2009, the population is 55,446 people. This means, as compared to the 2000 population, the present population has had a growth of 17.01 percent.
