Among the many entertainment venues in Brandon are Jackson Grove Park Comm Center, Flowood City Auditorium, and Performance Motor sports, Dogwood Festival Market, Mississippi Symphony Association, Human & Culture Svc of Jackson and the Black Rose Theatre Company, located in downtown Brandon.
Brandon has a number of historically interesting places.
Old Capitol Museum is one of them. At the center of the town square stands a monument of a Confederate soldier placed there by the United Daughters of the Confederacy. This was the spot where General Sherman had his soldiers stack arms while he occupied the town during the civil war.
Some of the important town districts are V Lakes Utility District, 20th Judicial District, Rankin County School District, and Pearl Street Historic District. Brandon is famous for many annual events. Mayor's Easter Egg Hunt on Thursday before every Good Friday, Brandon Day in May, National Night Out, Veteran's Day Celebration and the Christmas Parade.
