Tupelo can be described as the biggest city located in as well as county seat with respect to county of Lee, Mississippi, US.

Tupelo region-especially village in vicinity of Blue Springs; had been selected at the time of 2007 spring as site for 11th US ‘automobile manufacturing plant’; with regards to Toyota.

Originally, Tupelo was named ‘Gum pond’ before American Civil War. This can be attributed to the fact that there were large numbers of ‘tupelo’ trees over here. On the local level, they were called blackgum. Gumtree Arts Festival is still hosted on yearly basis over here.

As per US Census Bureau, total area of Tupelo is 133.2 sq. Km; out of which 0.62%25 consists of water.

According to census conducted in the year 2000, population of Tupelo was 34211; with its density being 258.4 per sq. Km.
