Cape Girardeau is a city situated in Cape Girardeau and Scott counties in Missouri in U.S.A. As per the 2007 census the city had a population of 35,349 inhabitants. The city covers a total area of 24.3 sq miles and has an elevation of 351 feet. The city is nicknamed as ‘The City of Roses’ as it has a nine mile stretch of highway covered with dozens of roses.
The climate is moderate with 11 inches of snowfall and 44 inches of rainfall on an average.
There are 213 sunny days with as July the warmest month and January the coldest. The city has received the title of Preserve America Community as well as Missouri Dream Community. Riverboats on the Cape’s riverfront are a common site and the Mississippi River can be viewed from a number of sites in Cape.
