Boone County Historic Society goes on to oversee ‘Maplewood House’; apart from a brick home of Victorian era which is made open by appointment. Montminy Gallery; which lies in the vicinity offers an excellent venue for display of works by local craftsmen and artists and having hosted musical events like ‘Old Time Fiddlers Jams’. ‘History Village’ has been taking shape on these grounds with county store of the 19th century and pioneer cabin.
The objective of Boone County Historical Society is to study, collect, and preserve various artifacts and recognize historic sites; all related to Boone County’s history.
