Fenton is a suburb of St. Louis and is situated in St. Louis County in Jefferson County. The city was founded in 1818 by William Lindsay Long.
Because of its proximity of fertile land, and also due to the Meramec River, the city has been inhabited for more than 1,000 years.
The population of the city as per the US Census was 4,360 people in 2000. By 2009, the population has reached to 4,305 people.
