The Harry S Truman Library and Museum is designed as a circular structure. Opened in 1957 to the public, it was the first ever library to be created under the Presidential Libraries Act of 1955. The library and the museum sits on a small hill which faces highway 24 in the old hometown of Truman and his family. The entire family is buried in the library courtyard.
