The American Jazz Museum is situated in the 18th & Vine District in Kansas City of Missouri in the US. It was built for the preservation of American Jazz Music and its prominent composers.
The Museum offers several interactive exhibits and educational programs about Jazz music. It also offers plenty of material related to legends like Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Louis Armstrong and many others.
Various fascinating artefacts such as a saxophone owned by Charlie Parker and plenty of Down Beat Awards are also on display.
A special exhibit showcases Kansas City’s contribution to Jazz.
A fully functional jazz club, known as The Blue Room, is on the site and a larger facility called the Gem Theatre is just across the street.
The Changing Gallery is a special exhibit, which is held 4 times a year and features displays of jazz, African-American life and baseball.
