American Jazz Museum exhibits the history of American jazz music and include several items on display including the Down Beat awards, exhibits on Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker and a saxophone owned by him.

Nelson Atkins Museum of Art is listed on the ten best architectural marvels and its list of collections include American and European paintings, photography, Kansas City Sculpture Park and more.

Kansas City Zoological Park is the tenth largest zoo in the United States and covers an area of 202 acres. The zoo opened in 1909 and has more than 1300 animals and a number of theme areas such as Sea Lion Pool, Monkey Island, Elephant House, Giraffe House, Otter Pool and more. The five main theme areas include Tiger Trail, The Valley, KidZone, Australia and Africa.

The World's of Fun amusement park for children is an exciting venue with several roller coaster rides, parks, cottages and more. The Ocean of Fun water park situated near this amusement center is one of the largest water parks in the world with thirteen rides and eighteen water rides.

There are several restaurants and snack counters present in the park along with locker facilities and a first aid center.
