East Saint Louis, better known as Metro-East, can be described as an area within Illinois which encompasses Saint Louis’s eastern suburbs. Belleville is the biggest area in East Saint Louis. As far as Illinois is concerned, Metro-East happens to be the 2nd biggest urban area; Chicago being the first one. Official language spoken over here is English. However, several other languages such as German, Spanish, etc. get spoken. These languages are evocative of ancestry or a part of culture. They aren’t related with the region’s general business. Population according to census conducted in the year 2000 was recorded to be 599845.
