Tower Grove in Saint Louis, Missouri is a town known for its diversity and vibrant activity. Located on the south side of Saint Louis, Tower Grove is bordered by Arsenal Street on the north, Chippewa Street on the south, Kingshighway Boulevard on the west, and Grand Avenue on the east. The area was established after the extension of Saint Louis’s streetcar line increased access to this area of town. From a strictly agricultural area, the town grew into a quaint urban neighborhood. The architectural elements of the homes here reflect the turn-of-the-century era in which the city was born and blossomed.
The focal point of the neighborhood is the Grand Avenue commercial district, which provides a hub for neighborhood activity and a source of economic stimulation for the town. Commercial development initiatives brought about a number of restaurants, cafes, coffee houses, specialty shops, beauty boutiques and antique stores, creating a unique shopping experience. Tower Grove is also known for its diverse cultural flair, as evident by its many ethnic restaurants that give the community a sense of international openness and acceptance. In addition, the neighborhood is home to the beautiful and largely popular Tower Grove Park that features a plethora of recreational activities for kids and a beautiful venue for special events.
There is a definitive sense of unity among the citizens, which is supplemented by a dedication to community activities and events like the Tower Grove Farmers Market and the Tower Grove South Moms group that serves as a network between families living in the area. The city makes great strides toward cultivating growth among its citizens and welcoming newcomers to the Tower Grove family.
