A nonprofit organization The Powell County Museum and Arts Foundation is the organization which runs the Old Montana Prison as a Museum. The museum is committed to protect, preserve and present the local culture and history of the city. The foundation has leased the space from the Old Prison for 99 years and runs without any federal aid.
