Glendive is regarded as the hub city of the rich inland agricultural region of western North Dakota and eastern Montana. It is placed amidst the Yellowstone River and the badlands, named for the jagged rock formations and rugged terrain. The main street in Glendive is one-sided and on the other side has a roundhouse and a huge railroad yard.
