The Montana State in the United States has a County named Dawson which consists of a county seat and city named Glendive. The gross area of the city is 3.4 square miles and out of these 0.04 square miles is covered by water while 3.3 square miles are occupied by land. Glendive is regarded as the hub city of the rich inland agricultural region of western North Dakota and eastern Montana. It is placed amidst the Yellowstone River and the badlands, named for the jagged rock formations and rugged terrain. The main street in Glendive is one-sided and on the other side has a roundhouse and a huge railroad yard.
As per the 2000 census, the population of Glendive is 4,729.
