Makoshika State Park is the biggest state park in Montana and is spread over an area of 11,400 acres. The word “makoshika” is a variant spelling of a Lakota phrase that means bad spirits or bad land. This park has the fossil remains of dinosaurs like the Triceratops and the Tyrannosaurus. The park also has pine and juniper studded badlands formations. There are nature trails, scenic drives, shooting and archery ranges.
