The Montana State in the United States consists of the Hill County wherein there is a city and county seat known as Havre. It is believed that this city has been named after the city of Le Havre in France. Havre is the eighth largest city in Montana and the largest city on the Hi-Line. The city serves as a business center and medical center for the Hi-Line. Approximately 120 miles towards the South of Havre lies Great Falls. This is the closest major city. The main street in the city is the U.S. Highway 2 which runs in the East-West direction. The northern terminus of U.S. Highway 87 is located at Havre. The Milk River flows through this city.
As per the 2000 census, the population of Havre is 9,621.
December is the coldest month in Havre with a temperature range of 9.1 to 33.7 degrees Fahrenheit. July is the warmest month and the temperature varies from 60.6 to 93.3 degrees Fahrenheit. The yearly average precipitation is 12.2 inches.
