The Belt Museum is located in the old jail building adjacent to the foot bridge over Belt Creek. The exhibits in the museum are as follows – the works of local artists, photos and records, a coal mine and a historic jail cell. This old jail building was constructed in 1895 when the coal mines were in boom period and the city was usually called as ‘Black Diamond City’, ‘Coal Banks’ or ‘Little Pittsburgh.’
