West Yellowstone is located at 44°39′45′N 111°6′21′W/ (44.662500, -111.105933) and it has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.1.km) all of which is land.  It is located in Gallatin County, Montana, adjacent to Yellowstone National Park and the town is served by Yellowstone Airport. The town has both severe cold winter and mild summer. During the summer season, the normal low temperature is 41°F and the regular high is 78°F and during the winter season, the standard low temperature is 1°F and the average high temperature is 24°F. According to 2000 censes, the population was 1,777 people with a density of 1,458.9 sq. miles.  The racial make up of the town was 91.93%25 White, 0.34%25 of African American, 0.85%25 of Native American, 0.76%25 of Asian, 4.84%25 of other races and 1.27%25 from two or more races and lastly 7.73%25 of Hispanic and Latino. 
The town is primarily located in Wyoming, US and then later extends to Montana and Idaho. It is popularly known for its Yellowstone National Park is close to the mountain community. The town is known for its sites on historical events, heart, soul, heritage and family.  At the earliest, the residence was popularly known as “Terminus” and after that “Boundary” and atlas Yellowstone has emerged. As the town is close to the mountains, there is plenty of wildlife, archaeological sites, Geyser and other recreational opportunities including hiking, camping, boating, fishing and sightseeing. Moreover, the area is much influenced by vast forest and grasslands and apart from that hundreds of endangered and threatened species of mammals, birds, fish and reptiles are found in the region.  Yellowstone Caldera is the largest super volcano on the continent and Yellowstone Lake is one of the largest elevated outlook lakes in North America.
