As legends say, Buffalo County Historical Society had been organized at first in 1920’s. It was led by Samuel Bassett of Gibbon then. He had penned down the 2-volume ‘History of Buffalo County’ as well. The reorganization on the part of this society took place in 1960’s. In the same year, incorporation papers were obtained from State of Nebraska. After its fading away due to president’ death right in the office, revival took place in the year 1972. Right now, one would find historical artifacts on display.
