Having built with the objective of protecting ‘Overland Trail travelers’, ‘Fort Kearny State Historical Park’ had been a huge station; along with being home station with respect to Pony Express, home of Pawnee Scouts, and outfitting depot with regards to Indian campaigns. Blacksmith shop, parade grounds, and stockade have been reconstructed. This park also contains an ‘interpretive center’ which houses numerous exhibits telling story about settlement of ‘American West’.
