Ward Charcoal Ovens State Historic Park contains a museum upon previous ‘site’ of ward; i.e. a petite mining town. Mining operations stated here in the year 1872. Later on, silver production started; which resulted in utilization of charcoal in smelters. These charcoal ovens are still being maintained over here.
