Fallon is a city in Churchill County located in western Nevada, United States. As per the census in 2000, the population of Fallon was 7,536. It is the county seat of Churchill County and located in the Lahontan Valley. Fallon is geographically located at 39° 28’ 22” N 118° 46’ 44” W. The city has a total area of 3.1 square miles. Fallon is surrounded by farms and ranches, and the Lahontan Valley Wetlands is a birder’s paradise. Fallon is a destination for meetings and small conventions. It offers outdoor activities like art, shops, and special events in year. Grimes Point Petroglyph Trail lies adjacent to Highway 50, seven miles east of Fallon. The Trail features rocks with carvings as much as eight thousand years old created by native people. Fallon is one of the westernmost cities on the loneliest roads in America. It is famous for its remoteness and eastbound travelers.
