Jean can be described as a petite community located in county of Clark, Nevada; at an approximate distance of 12 miles on the northern side of ‘Nevada-California’ state line; that too, along Interstate 15. The city of Las Vegas lays at the distance of around 30 miles on the northern side of this city.
‘Pop’s Oasis Casino’ had been the 1st casino within Jean. It, however, got closed in the year 1988. Tokens and Chips from this casino had been poured in to foundation of ‘Nevada Landing’. The leveling of Nevada Landing in the month of May in the year 2008 led to discovery of these tokens and chips; with some of them ‘embedded’ in concrete by collectors.
Nevada Landing Casino got closed down in the month of March in the year 2007.
As per census conducted in the year 2006, population of Jean was such that there were just two permanent residents. Racial make-up has been such that 100%25 of total population consists of Whites.
