Out by the Las Vegas Speedway, the Carroll Shelby Museum showcases some of the most powerful sports cars ever made.  The free tour includes the first Cobra CSX2000, the Shelby GT-H and the Terlingua.

Shelby himself, the 1956 and '57 Sports Illustrated driver of the year, has devoted his life to building the fastest cars on the street, and his museum gives you the same chance. You can design your very own Shelby GT350 or GT500 Super Snake at shelbyautos.com.

While the tours are free and no registration is required, you will have to be up early to make sure you arrive in time for the once-daily 10:30 a.m. showing (no tours on Sundays).  But it's certainly worth the trek to see the masterpieces crafted by one of racing's legends.
