Laughlin can be described as one of the CDPs, i.e. census-designated places located in county of Clark, Nevada, US. The name ‘Laughlin’ has been derived from ‘Don Laughlin’. He was the one who had bought Nevada’s southern tip in the year 1964. It was unofficially known as ‘South Pointe’.
Officially, ‘Laughlin’ isn’t incorporated in the form of municipality. The governance takes place through Clark County Board of Commissioners. It, in turn, receives counsel from Laughlin Town Advisory Board. Town Manager heads this Board.
Laughlin has been advertised as a family-friendly venue in comparison with its ‘contemporaries’. Also, it primely focuses on family and outdoor activities in opposition to adult entertainment and greater glitz found in Reno or Las Vegas.
As per US Census Bureau, area of Laughlin on the whole comes out to be 231.8 sq. Km; out of which 1.55% consists of water.
According to census conducted in the year 2000, population of Laughlin was 7076.
