Spread over an area of 179.6 km2, the city of Reno is the county seat of Washoe County, Nevada, United States. It is situated in an area called Truckee Meadows. The city’s population of 210,255 makes it the fourth-largest city of the state.
Famous for Casinos and birthplace of the gaming corporation Harrah’s Entertainment, the city is also known as ‘The Biggest Little City in the World’. Downtown Reno is popular for its fantastic nightlife. The Meadows and surrounding area offer unlimited outdoor and indoor entertaining activities. The city houses one of America’s best and oldest Universities, the University of Nevada.
Located in the rain shadow of the Sierras, most of the rain occurs during winter and spring. The winters have light snowfall and the summers have high temperature. The resort region around Lake Tahoe has facilitated the city to make a bid for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
