Sparks can be described as a city located in county of Washoe, Nevada, US.

Even though Sparks had originally been a district belonging to Reno, both of them have grown towards one another such that in the present scenario, boundary between them has turned out to be purely political. Usually, they get referred to as ‘twin city’, i.e. ‘Reno-Sparks’.

As per US Census Bureau, area of Sparks on the whole comes out to be 62.1 sq. Km; out of which 0.25%25 consists of water. ‘Stormwater surface runoff’ with respect to this city goes on to drain in to Truckee River; the reason being- it getting emptied in to Pyramid Lake. Besides, this place is habitat of 2 endangered species.

According to census conducted in the year 2000, population of Sparks was reported to be 66346; with its density being 1070.9 per sq. Km. per capita income for the city was $21122. Around 8%25 of total population was found to be below poverty line.
