Concord is the capital of the US state of New Hampshire. It also serves as the county seat for the Merrimack County. Concord constitutes the villages of Penacook, East Concord and West Concord.
Having a total area of 174.9 sq km, Concord’s highest point is 262 m above sea level, on Oak Hill. The Penacook Lakes lies to the west of the city.
Concord has a humid continental climate characterised by warm, humid summers and cold, wet winters. The average annual temperature in July is 28.7°C while that in January is -12.39°C.
The approximate population of the city is 40,700. Concord serves as a major distribution, industrial and transportation hub. Some of the major items produced and distributed by Concord include electrical instruments, electric components, architectural and structural granite, and brass.
