Tourist Guide Exeter
The famous town of Exeter is located in the Rockingham County of New Hampshire in U.S.A. The city is situated where the River Exeter flows through the tidal Squamscott River. Exeter is drained by the Exeter River, which feeds the Squamscott River. Being a census-designated place, as of the 2000 census the city is recorded to have a population of around 14,058 which is found to have increased to 14,963 according to the 2007 census. The city is considered to be the home for the Phillips Exeter Academy and also owns a private university. The total area of the city is around 4.5 square miles of which 4.3 square miles is shrouded by land and merely 0.2 square miles is water. The town experiences a very cold climate during the months from December till March with a heavy snowfall of around 15 inches. It receives an average sunshine of around 50 percent throughout the year as it is located far away from the equator. The common sport played here is hockey and the city also has a professional ice hockey team that will be playing in the Eastern Professional Hockey League that will be held in December 2009.
