Fort at Number 4 Living History Museum
This museum can be described as one of the re-created fortified villages in northerly ‘British settlement’ then. It goes on to illustrate history of this region as well as life in mid seventeenth century. This fort, that had actually been more of ‘gated village’; had been constructed by British to acquire protection against French; that too, when tension between them was rising at an alarming rate. However, attacks through Indians drove majority of area settlers in to having resided in to the fort.
An increasing number of attacks through French as well as Indians eventually failed and the fort was solely held responsible for triumph of British and surrender on the part of Canada to English.
Timings
This history museum remains open from Tuesdays to Sundays between 1000 and 1630 hrs; from 1st of June to 31st of October.
