Tourist Guide Laconia
The city of Laconia is located in Belknap County, New Hampshire, United States. The city is the 9th largest city in New Hampshire. It is located near Lake Winnipesaukee, and the Lakeport and Weirs Beach villages are included in the city. The city is well known for hosting the Laconia Motorcycle Week in June and the Laconia World Championship Sled Dog Derby every winter. The area was home to the Abenaki Indian in the earlier days and in 1746 a fort was built at this place. Till 1761 the place was not settled due to the hostilities between the French and English colonists.
As per the census of 2000 the total population of the place was 16,411 residents. The city spans over an area of 26.6 square miles. The place derives its name from the Laconia Company created Captain John Mason.
The climate of Laconia is warm in the summers with temperature averaging at 70’s while in winters it is very cold with temperature in the range of 20’s. The warmest month is July and coldest is January.
