Established on May 16th 1918 by Presidential Proclaimation, the park is visited by large number of visitors. The Mount Washington is the highest point in the park. The park has a huge reserve of Northern Hardwoods, Paper Birch and Spruce Hardwoods. It is home to almost 184 bird species of which 38 stay around the year and rest migrate during summers or winters.
