Merrimack is a town situated in Hillsborough County in New Hampshire, United States. Overall, there are four villages in the town, South Merrimack, Reed’s Ferry, Thornton’s Ferry and Merrimack Village, formerly known as Souhegan Village.
This city witnessed its first settlers in the late 17th century and was officially incorporated in 1746. According to the United States Census Bureau, this town has a total area of 33.4 square miles, of which 32.6 square miles is land and 0.8 square miles is water. There is also an unnamed hill situated in the northwestern part of the town in the city which reaches 512 feet above the sea level.
The population of the city was 25,119 as per the 2000 census. Due to this, this city became the eighth largest municipality in New Hampshire.
On average, there are 199 sunny days per year in Merrimack. This city experiences 44 inches of rain and 60 inches of snowfall each year.
